Centre of Academic Excellence in Post Graduate Medical Education

The new Centre of Academic Excellence in Post Graduate Medical Education is a very valuable resource to introduce innovations, new practices and organizational to achieve excellent standards.

The Center of Academic Excellence in Postgraduate Medical Education (CoAE) is a colaboratad initiative of the Faculty of Medicine of UC Chile and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

It is within the Center for Medical Education and Health Sciences UC (CEMCIS UC) and its mission is to collaborate with the development of Postgraduate Medical Education in Latin America.

To this end, it carries out a series of training, research and scientific communication activities with a regional focus. Among these activities, the Center of Excellence develops the LACRE (Latin American Conference on Residency Education), IMELF-Latam (International Medical Education Leaders Forum-Latin America), as well as Training, Evaluation and Leadership Courses in Post Graduate medical training.

 
 
What are our goals?

-To expand the regional scholar community by developing training programs in post graduate medical education for academic leaders, faculty and residents in Latin America.

-To boost research and scholarly work that contributes to advance in excellent postgraduate medical education in the region.

-The new Centre of Academic Excellence in Post Graduate Medical Education is a very valuable resource to introduce innovations, new practices and organizational to achieve excellent standards.

What are we offering?

Training: A continuing training program that combines different initiatives  for faculty members or professionals working in the post graduate medical education area, inluding:

– Courses

– Certificate programs 

– Workshops

– Mentorship 

New Postgraduate Medical Education Research Competition for Latin America

The Center of Academic Excellence in Postgraduate Medical Education opens the first research competition aimed at academics who work in postgraduate teaching and who are interested in conducting research in this area.

The Contest opens on March 15, 2024 and the rules will be available from December 1.

Latin American Conference on Residency Education (LACRE)

The Latin American Conference on Residency Education (LACRE) is the largest medical education event in Latin America.

It is an opportunity for leaders in resident education to learn from experts and fellow participants, discuss relevant topics, and interact with peers.

Various activities are held during the conference, including plenary sessions, symposiums, debates, interactive workshops and presentations of scientific work.

LACRE conference brings together around 500 attendees from Latin America and other regions to share ideas, challenges, innovations and advanced training in postgraduate medical education.

This year the Latin American Virtual Meeting on Residency Education (LACRE) was held on June 15 and 16 with the theme “New Perspectives in Resident Education”, an opportunity in which ideas, challenges, innovations and experiences in the training of specialists were shared. .
